Are you available on my event date?

This is a great initial question to a Planner, particularly if you have a specific date or some possible dates in mind. If your date is flexible or if you’re in the venue selection phase, reaching out early enables me to explore potential dates and assist you in finding the perfect venue for you.

What kind of services do you offer?

I specialise exclusively in Full Wedding Planning & Management and Event Planning & Management accepting a limited number of weddings and events each year. This intentional approach guarantees an unparalleled focus on your wedding or event.

Who would we be working with?

From the initial decision to work together, to pinpointing your dream venue and curating the best vendor team, I am personally involved every step of the way. On your wedding or event day, I am the first on-site and the last to depart, ensuring that every detail aligns seamlessly with your vision, and that you and your guests have an unforgettable experience.

Describe your style of wedding?

My style is not pre-determined – it’s not about me. This is YOUR wedding, your love, your big day. By genuinely listening and understanding what you both love, my team and I will curate an experience that reflects your unique vision. I’m not about chasing trends – instead, dedicated to showcasing the two of you, in a wedding that feels authentically yours. A timeless celebration that tells your love story in detail.

When should we book Jenny McAlpine Events + Weddings?

I recommend booking at least 12 months in advance. However, some couples reach out soon after they’re engaged, often 1-2 years before their preferred wedding date. This not only guarantees availability, but also allows ample time for planning and securing the very best venue and vendor team.

We live outside the Okanagan. Do we need to make regular trips there during the planning process?

Visiting the Okanagan is never a bad idea – and I welcome you to visit before your event if you’re able. But I understand the constraints of distance and time. My clients typically live outside of B.C. or Canada and trust me to be their dedicated on-the-ground expert. That said, you’re a partner in the process, and I prioritize keeping you in the loop with regular updates and open communication, always ensuring decisions are made with your preferences in mind.

What kinds of events do you plan?

I’ve planned and executed a wide range of events over the last two decades in the Okanagan Valley. My passion is social gatherings and team building for meeting & incentive travel and association clients, award ceremonies, galas, and charity fundraisers, and plan fabulous milestone celebrations like birthdays, anniversaries, and retirements.

Where do you plan weddings and events?

Kelowna has been my home for over two decades. I have a deep connection to the Okanagan Valley that has inspired me to focus exclusively on planning weddings and events here. My local knowledge and familiarity with the area’s venues and vendors is unmatched, and I stay continuously updated in both established and new venues and vendors in the Okanagan.

How much does a wedding cost?

Ah, the classic ‘how long is a piece of string’ question!
A quick Google search will throw out some numbers, but it doesn’t break down location, guest count, or what’s included. I recommend starting out by having a conversation with your fiancé (and family if they’re graciously contributing) and decide on a budget range that aligns with your financial comfort zone.
We know how much you ‘should’ spend on each area of your wedding, and we know what things cost here, so we allocate your budget across the different categories (eg; ceremony, reception, décor, florals, photography etc) based on your vision and what’s most important to you and for your guest experience.

Do you plan weddings for all budgets?

Our expertise is with weddings tailored for 75-150 guests, with budgets from $75,000 and beyond yet our passion extends to creating stunning experiences for more intimate wedding celebrations also.
